The Many Hats I Wear

Ever stop and think about all the different things you do.

…and think, I’ve got a lot going on.

I’ve changed jobs in the last few months. Left a dead-end job beginning of December (I know I was excited about it, but turned out to be pretty bad.), which can be pretty scary right before the Holidays start up, but turned out to be the best decision ever! Which totally has proven to me, that 2009 has definitely been the year of new brave things for me.

Lots of new and exciting things have come my way. Thank goodness God blessed me with being organized or else, I probably would go crazy.

Hat #1: Wife Hat

I married my best friend in February 2009 {almost at a YEAR ya’ll!}, and it’s been bliss ever since….

Ok, that’s not true. Its been awesome, but it’s been work! Any wife can agree with me on that. You go from being a single independent person, going by whatever schedule suits you, to merging your life and everyday tasks with another human being, who has their own schedule, plans, tasks to do and in this crazy world, you two have to learn to work together as a team, becoming one. Sounds lovely and romantic huh? But it’s work. It’s fighting for each other and learning each other in a new way, understanding each others goals and dreams, as well as fears and failures. It’s encouraging, building up, forgiving, like never before. It’s giving up your own selfish wants and needs, to put someone else before yourself. It works both ways, and when each other is working in that mindset, amazing things happen. You become a Team.

Hat #2: Homemaker

{note: this is not my kid. its my niece ;) }

I think being a homemaker is awesome. I LOVE a clean sink, vacuuming is my favorite chore, I LOVE E-Mealz because it makes cooking so much more fun and I’ve often threatened to burn every piece of clothing in the house because I despise laundry so much! Whoever said taking care of a home is easy, is lying. It’s a WORKOUT. It’s never-ending, but it’s definitely rewarding.

Hat #3: Pre-School Teacher

Yep, I’ve taken a job teaching pre-school, and I love it! I think I was meant to teach little ones. I love it. Sure, I’m exhausted by the end of the day, but it’s very rewarding.

Hat #4: The Full-Timer

And on top of all the other stuff, I have two {yes two} part time jobs, that equal out to being one full time job. One involves a production company and the other is about being an internet genius… I’d love to tell you more, but being secretive is much more dramatic ;)

Hat# 5: Fitness Chick

I teach wholyfit at a local gym, as well as take the classes myself. Good workout ya’ll!

No surprise that I love all things running, and want to be a better runner. And of course going to the gym, to watch poser pretend to workout. ;) But seriously, I HAVE to work out. This isn’t an option for me, its not like picking an outfit, do I want the red or the blue. No this is something I cannot live without, I learned that even more over the holidays, I slacked something-real-bad on getting my workouts in and I felt it, not only in my waistline but also, in my over all well-being. I felt tired, self-concious and did I mention lack of energy? Because seriously, I can’t live without working out. It is a part of my lifestyle.

And of course I could go on and mention a million other hats that I wear… but I just got back from the gym and I’m tired :)

So tell me, what how hats are you wearing?

Date with Aunt LaLa & Honest Foods

My niece “Lil’ M” just turned 7 this November.

She’s sweet, hilarious and very smart. I surprised her last Friday and picked her up from school for a Date with Aunt LaLa. :)

We went to Market Street. I had to parallel park, which I know how to do, it just takes me a couple tries. Well my 7 year old nice in all her wit said “LaLa, what ARE you doing? Everyones looking at us, this is embarrassing”. I replied “Ma no one is looking at us, don’t worry I got this. ” M’s reply “Ohhh embarrrrassssing”. She’s 7. Embarrassed? I think not. Silly girl. :)

After the parking drama, we went off to Starbucks {of course}….

IMG_0822and Lil’ M struck a pose in front of the tree… where does she get it from? Hmm…

We went to Borders to read some magazines and books…

Operation Beautiful {at Healthy Tipping Point}

I couldn’t be more excited about this idea…

Caitlin over at Healthy Tipping Point has created “Operation Beautiful“…

caitlin

“Operation Beautiful” is simple: Leaving positive Notes everywhere, your home, at work, the gym, the grocery, etc.

I think this concept is awesome, simply spread encouragement around your world.

When I was in my pre-teen & teenage years, I dealt with such self-esteem issues, it still amazes me how I would think of myself back then. Any compliment or encouragement someone sent my way meant the world to me. I just wonder, what one note could do for someone who feels down about themselves. Maybe it could be that one note that would help boost their confidence.

I have yet to go out anywhere today, so I thought I’d show you the pictures I’ve put through my house…

teamgilesstuff 046

“Beautiful. Strong. Confident. Don’t forget that. :)

teamgilesstuff 038

“Be Blessed, Be Loved”

teamgilesstuff 039

“Slow and Steady always WINS”

So tell me, what’s the BEST compliment you’ve ever received? How did it make you feel?
