Special thanks to Tara at Dashing in Pearls for introducing me to this amazing quote. If you have a quote you’d like to see on “Weekend Inspiration”, please send it to: [email protected]

“You can do anything for 2 minutes!”

I’ve been wanting to finish projects I’ve started. Painting my laundry room being one of them. The painting is done…

You like? Ah, damask. :) You know I love me some damask. I’ve got some organizing to do, curtains and baskets to buy and then I’ll be done! Woo! Then I can make this baby off the to-do list!

“You can do anything for 2 minutes!”

I say this phrase a lot in bootcamp. Just ask the ladies. :)

It’s said during those exercises that hurt, that sting, the ones that makes your body scream at you to immediately stop this craziness that you’re doing. But it’s in those 2 minutes of hardcore exercise that your body is becoming stronger and NEEDS this workout.

“You can do anything for 2 minutes!”

I tell myself this when I’m running. I know that normally I’m going to be running longer than 2 minutes, so sometimes its “You can do anything for 5 minutes, for 10 minutes, for 20 minutes, for 30 minutes, for an hour.” Whatever the activity may be. I tell myself that I CAN DO THIS.

I find that breaking up an exercise into time increments helps not only the time pass quickly, but mentally I can wrap my brain around it and tackle the task head on.

  • I could be spending 2 minutes of my life, eating Nachos…

  • But I’m spending 2 minutes of my life doing push-ups….

  • I could be spending 2 minutes of my life, sitting on the couch watching Real Housewives of whatever…

  • But I’m spending 2 minutes of my life doing jumping jacks….

I could go on and on. Looking at exercise in this way, helps me get my booty out there and break a sweat, instead of looking at a whole hour workout and feeling intimidated. No, I can do ANYTHING for 2 minutes and 2 minutes turns into 10, that turns into 20, that turns into an hour.

What do you do to help you get your fitness on?

I saw this fun exercise on Fitnessista the other day, check it out. Its a video! :)

Also, head over to Then Heather Said… and check out this raffle going on:
