Melts my heart…

when I see a face like this:

Isn’t she precious. She’s at CAPS: Citizens for Animal Protection and I need her. I have such a small spot for lil’ pups that need a home and not a cold cell. I’m workin’ on Hubs… I’m workin’ on it.
In other news, tonight was another successful wholyfit class, as I mentioned on twitter today, my quads have been killing me all day. Who would have thought teaching pre-school kids (more on that later) would give you such a workout. I guess its all the squats. When you’re speaking to a 2 yr old, you have to get down to their level, and that’s where all the squatting comes from. holy-unknown-workout batman! I feel like I’ve been in a crazy hard strength training class. sheesh! Needless to say, tonights class was hard for me. But well worth it.
Whenever you’re sore from a workout do you continue to work out the next day or take a day off?
And in other news…
Hook’em! I’m just sayin’.

Oklahoma Recap {finally}

Ooooooooklahoma!

That Saturday morning Hubs and I were in Oklahoma, before the games we went to the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial…

I wish we had more time to actually go into the museum, we only got to see the outside memorial site. The stillness and quietness at the site was amazing.

100_6132Then I saw this clock and fell in love, isn’t it gorgeous? The city is beautiful!

Then it was Basketball time!!

Then it was tailgating time!

And, it was so cold ya’ll… I was an ICE CUBE!

It was a very exciting game, my first College Football game in fact. What a great first one! :)

Then Sunday morning we woke up later than planned, woo hoo for sleeping in though {9am} and drove back to Houston…

Wee! Good times had by all, and I really loved Oklahoma :) Lots of great people there!

Weekend recap: Football is EVERYWHERE!

Good Morning ya’ll! How was your weekend?

Mine started off Friday at noon. :) I went to my mother-in-laws house for a bit, they just got back from visiting the Mall of America. How fun! While we were in the Kitchen talking, we noticed 3 hound dogs running on the golf course, loose. Odd. Needless to say, we ran {me running in stilettos}  out to leash the dogs because they had to have gotten out of their back yard and the likely hood of them getting stolen or hit by a car was high….

We got the number to the owner on their tags, and the dogs were returned. What a way to start a weekend. :) This picture is of Copper. :)

That cloudy evening, Hubs and I went to Hubble and Hudson to have some dinner…

photo (1)

I decided to have a salad…

photo (2)Spinach & Goat Cheese Salad. YUM!

with a side of clintro hummus, so good. Hubs had a sandwich with a side of their fresh guac!

We had a neat view of the Viking Cooking School…

We’re thinking of taking the Gingerbread House making class in December. Anyone wanna go!?

After dinner, we walked to Market Street and went into some of my favorite stores {He’s so good to me}….

Swoozies had all their Football decor out. I figure since I’m stuck with football on until February, I should at least get some of the cute serving dishes, yes? Then we went over to LuLu Lemon and I drooled over everything there including the new running attire. I so want some of their pants {um.. not for $98.00…} one day.

Saturday Morning, I got up early {stupid early} to go for a run, but some how did not make it out of the house until 8:00am. Sheesh. I have reasons though… one of them being, I get dressed, and feel something on my knee/pants, I look… and there’s an ant on my knee/pant. Then I realize, there’s ANTS ALL OVER my pants. {Yes, you can laugh now.} I had freakin’ ants in my pants. I mean. SERIOUSLY.  So after killing a bunch of ants. Eating breakfast and what not, I finally headed out of the house, drove to the highschool to run the track. To only find out the track was in use by the school that morning. Awesome. So I went to the park which was about 20 minutes away, but a good place to run and close to Hubs off, which he was at that morning.

After about 2 miles, it starts to rain {first time running in the rain}, misty-humid rain. Of course I have my iphone with me. But thankfully I had it in my SPIbelt and no harm came to it. I made it to mile 3 and when the thunder showed up, and with that I knew lighting would be close so I went back to the car… soaked and hot! Not my favorite run…

photo (9)

But still smiling :) Mostly because Hubs just called and wanted to go to breakfast! YEA!

We first went to the Egg & I. But it was packed and we had zero patience that morning, so IHOP it was….

photo (10)Football is EVERYWHERE

I had SUCH a delish breakfast…

photo (11)

It was eggs, spinach & tomatos with whole wheat toast on the side, I made a mini-sandwich with two of the slices of bread. It was SO GOOD. And I forgot what hubs had… whoops. Sorry you meat eaters. :)

Saturday evening, we had a surprise birthday party to go to for our friend Jon {hi Jon!}, he was surprised Mission Accomplished. Of course the college football games were on. :)

After the party we stopped by my brothers house, and more football games were on… me and my adorable 1 yr old niece hung out, while my 4 yr old nephew ran around being the boy he is. :)

photo (12)

Check out that hair of hers! haha I love it! She’s such a sweet baby.

At home, hubs finally decides to get on twitter :) follow him.

Sunday Morning, hubs and I went to church, chatted with friends after {hi friends!}. Good times. Sunday always turns out to be a day to get the house back in order, laundry {hate laundry} and  go grocery shopping, which I did and it was POURING down raining when I was checking out… and no umbrella. So sad. I waited, it stopped, the humidity was beyond thick. I live in a swamp. :( I came home from the grocery store to an insanely loud house… yes, more football was on, upstair. I’m sorry our neighbors, hubs likes his surround sound during football season. I think I should invest in ear plugs?

So tell me, how was your weekend? What were the highlights?

It’s Football Time!!!

I’m sure you’re thinking… “Lauren, why are you posting about Football…you??” Well, I may not be a big fan, but my darling Rodney is. I love to watch him get all excited about College football on Saturday nights, and listening to him rave about this team he likes and that team and how it’s all about the drive and passion in the game when it’s college ball. He said to give it a few years and I’d be posting blogs about football… well… SURPRISE! I’m posting about it now… because I got an email from my FAVORITE place to go to “Swoozies” saying that “Football season is here!!” and look what they had to show me:

YEAAA!! Watching football? Having a party??? You need entertaining supplies. :) Yet another reason to love Swoozies and Football!!!
