Whole Foods Market Houston loves me

and I love Whole Foods. Grocery shopping is a favorite task of mine. I enjoy it even more when its in a fancy sancy grocery store like Whole Foods.

My sister asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday, my answer “I want to go to Whole Foods.” :) We don’t have one close to us, its about an hour away… so we took a trip out there to shop!

I tweeted the other day that we were going and Whole Foods Houston wrote me back…

I especially love going to Whole Foods when its Autumn!

What is it about Fall thats so comforting? I also love walking into Whole Foods, its just beautiful!

I love grocery shopping. :)

I went with my sister and her two little boys… boys in a grocery store is always… fun.

The Whole Foods that’s closest to us {remember about an hour away}, is pretty tiny, so you’re done shopping pretty quick, which makes it nice for the boys, but we definitely could’ve kept on looking.

The thing I love about shopping at Whole Foods is not that its just so pretty and they play very cool jazz music, is that I always can find something new and different to me. This shopping experience however, I didn’t find much. I’m realizing that my local grocery stores have definitely stepped up either game in the last few years and are carrying a lot of the same things as Whole Foods. Normally at Whole Foods everything in the yogurt section was always something new to me, not this time. Everything was exactly what my local grocery store carries. Times have changed people, times have changed. Even wal-mart is going more organic *shiver*… wal-mart is NOT Whole Foods. I’m just sayin’.

I did however find some Coconut Sports Water… I’ll tell you all about that in my post later about my Saturday run {behind on blogging over here… still love me right?}.

Oh and another thing I do love about Whole Foods… the brown bags WITH handles…

It was a great Birthday trip. ;)

Do you like grocery shopping?

POM Wonderful

I’ve always thought about trying POM Wonderful juice… but was always skeptical about it.

Have you ever seen a real pomegranate?

It’s always looked weird to me. So therefore that is my only reason for not trying the fruit or the juice.

Then one day I get a DM on Twitter and POM Wonderful wanted to send me some of their juice to try.

I love personalized letters from companies. :)

I got these cute little juices…

I took this bad boy to the work the other day and thought I’d try it for an afternoon snack…

I was nervous to taste this, not going to lie.

First taste?

Not too bad.

Has this apple juice/grape juice feel to it. More like the after taste I’d say had that dry taste.

I only finished about half or so of it…

Not that I didn’t like it, but more I didn’t realize juice would be so filling. Yes, I was full! So I saved the rest for later.

Now I’m really curious to try the actual fruit. :) When is it in season?? Soon right?

Have you ever tried pomegranate? Would you?

I love the Grocery store

I’ve made a decision regarding yesterday’s post.

I’m going to do both races! YEA! :)

My friend Rachel is going to do the 10K with me for this coming Saturday. :) can’t wait.

Yesterday (Saturday) Morning I went for a run and about melted back into my car.

My running partner was pretty tired too…

:)

After dropping Taxi off at the house, I headed to the grocery store to stock our house back up. We had nothing when we got back from NY.

I love grocery shopping. I’d love it if we had a Whole Foods close by. {you hear me Whole Foods?!} I’m sure I could spend twice as long shopping.

After shopping I got our fridge all organized and cleaned out. I hate when food goes bad and you have to throw it away. I should plan better. But I do love a clean fridge!

Finally getting to all that organizing together…

Taxi’s hungry

We seriously were out of everything… after all that shopping and the fridge still looks a little bare. We have enough for now though. :)

I burned a bucket of calories on Saturday between running in the AM and deep cleaning the house in the afternoon. Woo hoo!

Easy Lunch Boxes

I’m excited to tell you about Easy Lunch Boxes….

The super sweet Kelly Lester, CEO of Easy Lunch Boxes and a busy mom on the go, sent me this product to review.

I received the set of 4 lunch boxes and this aqua cooler bag…

I made a lunch for hubs using the easy lunch box…

even had room for his granola bar ;)

These boxes are genius. Quick and easy way to pack your lunch, and I like that its portioned control. I LOVE that they’re dishwasher friendly too, that makes life easier.

Here’s a message from Kelly:

Mornings spent in chaos making breakfast, beds, & lunch boxes? The EasyLunchbox system makes it simple to organize, and quickly pack healthy lunches without wasting money, time, paper or plastic.

Born out of my response to unhealthy school lunch programs, EasyLunchboxes.com started from the desire to send my 3 kids to school with a nutritious meal, using little to no wasteful packaging. But the EasyLunchbox System is not just for kids. Adult size meals fit perfectly too.

The EasyLunchbox System ‘s design, functionality, and low price has quickly made it a top choice among green lunch box solutions since it came on the market in D ecember, 2009. Named a ‘top 5 Eco-Friendly Mommy Must Have” by Parents Ask, the EasyLunchbox System has been rated TOP CHOICE by many independent reviewers. Read their reviews HERE .

I was like other frustrated moms – I didn’t like throwing together lunches during the morning rush. So much time was wasted sorting through a cabinet of mismatched food containers while trying to pack 15-25 well-balanced lunches per week. I struggled to find something that would help me pack lunches fast, without resorting to the ‘convenience’ of expensive, pre-packaged ‘fast-food.’ Most importantly, I wanted something attractive, eco-friendly, and made of food-safe materials that I didn’t have to wash by hand.

My clever solution to the lunch-packing chore is the simple two piece EasyLunchbox container: The bottom has three compartments to hold an entree or sandwich and two side dishes. The fitted lid (which comes in 4 colors) covers all three compartments at once. No more squished sandwiches, mismatched plastic container pieces to keep track of (matching up all those bottoms and lids was the thing that drove me nuts!) or wasteful baggies. Fits perfectly inside the roomy EasyLunchbox custom carrying bag. And there is still plenty of room to throw in an extra snack or two, whole fruit, perhaps a thermos of soup, drink and ice block.  Flexibility is key, and since so many different things can fit, no matter what menu you choose to include, it packs easily and quickly. It’s amazing how much faster, greener, & easier lunch box packing is with the EasyLunchbox system.

Supporting the waste-free lunch movement, EasyLunchboxes.com offers a reusable, superior solution at a much lower price than other companies.

The simple chic design and bright colors of our Cooler Bags can even be personalized! We have included a sturdy grommet in the carrying handle so you can easily attach a pretty key ring, dietary restrictions warning tag, or your choice of any type of handcrafted or store bought “flair.” Examples HERE

Our Cooler Bags are made of the highest quality 300D Polyester for premium durability and toughness. Vinyl free (PVC free) & lead free, with an FDA compliant PEVA lining.
