‘What I Wore’ Wednesday

Remember how I was trying to pick out a new book to read? Well I found this at Target with a 30% off tag {gosh, I love Target} the other day and picked up this…

Isn’t she adorable?… and I really like her name. ;)

So far, its a fun read. LC talks about having “basics” in your wardrobe and how to organize your closet properly in order to easily shop your closet when getting ready for the day. Love that!

Now, I’m not a fashion blogger, nor do I claim to have any fashion sense what-so-ever. But I do like putting together outfits that I like on me and taking pictures of said outfit and uploading them to Instagram. I’m obsessed with Instagram on the iPhone. Have an iPhone? Download Instagram.

It. Will. Change. Your. Life. Ok maybe not, but still. I L-O-V-E it.

Obviously, my CHI (hair straightener) and I were friends last week. ;)

  • Top Left: Old Navy top (from years ago) and NY&Co white pants
  • Top Right: Target dress with NY&Co belt
  • Bottom Left: Francesca’s Jacket, Marshall’s top, William Rast Skinny Jeans
  • Bottom Right: Charlotte Russe top with William Rast Skinny Jeans

I like to bargain shop. 99% of the time I buy something its on sale. I almost never pay full price. I mean, they’re gonna mark it down eventually! Who’s with me?

I don’t know about you, but I live in workout clothes. Seriously. And while I love being in workout clothes, {they’re comfortable after all} its fun to put together outfits and get all doll’d up. I’ve kind of made this a challenge to myself to actually get dressed in regular clothes and not just workout clothes all day. Do you do that too? Live in workout clothes?

Fun idea coming in my head right now!! Take a picture of what you’re wearing today and send it my way! I’d love to see what fun outfits you’ve put together!! I’ll post your picture here, be sure to tell me where your outfit is from.

Help Me Find A Book To Read

I’m craving a new book…books really. I want a couple new ones to read. I went through Amazon.com the other day and created a wish-list of all the books I’d like to read. Help me pick which two I should get next!

So whatcha think? Have you ever read any of the above? Thoughts? Recommendations?

And yes, I know what you’re thinking “Um, Lauren… where’s that Kentucky Derby recap?? Hellooooo waiting!” It IS coming… I’m waiting to get a few pictures from the event that I didn’t take with my camera. :) Then I’ll recap the whole glorious thing!

Happy Friday my friends!

***Happy Birthday to my sweet nephew Landon!! Can’t wait till his 6th birthday party! Woo!!**

Book Review: Believe It, Be It By: Ali Vincent

I got Ali Vincent’s (The first female biggest loser) book, “Believe it, Be it” this past Christmas from my sweet Husband.

I love reading books, but never have or find the time to read them. However, when I sat down to open this book, I literally spent HOURS reading it and almost finished it in one day, I had only two chapters left by the time I stopped reading that day. Yes, it’s that good.

Ali has a beautiful way of painting her story for you. She talks about her life, her dreams, her fears and the battles she faced with gaining weight and losing weight.

One thing I thought was really interesting was, Ali talked about how eating wasn’t the true issue behind her weight. That through life, she had endured a lot of emotional pain, which she let turn her into a quiet, angry, insecure person, who was not at all happy, in which she turned to food.

Ali talked about her journey going through the Biggest Loser, and if you’re a Biggest Loser fan, you definitely want to read this book!

I also liked how Ali didn’t end the book when she won the Biggest Loser, she went on to talk about what happened next in her life and where she’s at now.

I highly recommend this book for anyone dealing with weight loss or who loves to read inspiring stories. :)

La’s Pick of the Week:

When Rodney and I first got engaged, after all the excitement had finally set in and Rod look’s at me and says “Ok get to planning.” I knew I needed to figure out what happens next??

So we went out and got this book:

I honestly do recommend this to anyone planning a wedding, because if you’re like me and LOVE to make a list and check it off, then this is the book for you.

If you already have this book, tell me what you liked about it. I’d love to know! :)
