Stonyfield Yogurt Banana Nut Muffins

This was the window I stared at in my car, waiting for the masses amounts of ice to melt away from it so I could go to Zumba class…

verdict? The ice won. After 20 minutes of “defrosting” and then trying to manually get the ice off the windows in order to see clearly… I came to realize this was a losing battle… and Zumba had just started. Sad face.

So I warmed up with this….

and yesterday I made muffins! Wee!!

With it being crazy cold here and muffins being so warm and cozy, I gave in and decided to bake. :)

Stonyfield Farms kindly sent me some coupons to try out their revamped Smooth and Creamy organic yogurt.

FYI:

Stonyfield only changed the consistency of the Whole Milk yogurt (full fat, not low fat, fat free, etc). The cream layer used to rise to the top of the whole milk yogurt, but they’ve stirred it in making the yogurt even creamier. No changes were made to any line except the Whole Milk line.

I’m a huge fan of Stonyfield Farms, they own me over with Oikos greek yogurt. But what else I like about their company is that they produce quality products.

What I learned about this product is…

  • All Stonyfield yogurts are organic and sweetened only with naturally milled cane sugar
  • They’re made without artificial colors or flavors
  • They are made from organic milk produced without the use of toxic persistent pesticides, chemical fertilizers, antibiotics, or artificial growth hormones (rBST).
  • This product (Smooth and Creamy) has been around for a while, but used to have the cream at the top of the yogurt. They have stirred in the cream to create an even smoother, silkier texture and delicious taste.

Have you ever had any of the Stonyfield products? Which ones? What did you think?

I had never tried the smooth and creamy french vanilla yogurt before, so I was pretty excited to try this out. I had an idea though…

I wanted muffins, I was out of the ingredients to make said (package) muffins… so in came the yogurt!

Thank you Martha Stewart for reusable muffin cups…
Bake at 345 for 14 minutes and BAM!
You’ve got tasty muffins!
and adding a little yogurt to pretend its icing, is totally acceptable. :)

Cupcakes!

This weekend we celebrated my sister and brothers birthdays, and I made cupcakes for them…

I’d love to tell you I made them from scratch and they’re super healthy for you. But… I’d be lying.

They’re funfetti white cake, with chocolate fudge icing. I didn’t even eat one! But they smelled divine!

I was quite proud of how the icing turned out… I used one of those little bag thingys with the silver thingy, and swirled it and viola! Oh how Bridget @ Bake at 350 will laugh at my baking lingo. ;)

Annnd do me a hugeo fav and hope over to my sister’s blog or twitter and wish her Happy Birthday,

since her birthday is Monday… HAPPY BIRTHDAY SISSY! I LOVE YOU LOADS! :)
