Jumping Jacks Challenge

My sister told me to blog more. So I thought of a fun challenge for us!

Did you know that 700 jumping jacks could help you lose 1 pound? Of course with a healthy diet in place. You can’t go eat a pile of pies and expect jumping jacks to help you lose weight. Remember, its 30% exercise, 70% diet that brings in results.

So here’s the challenge this month. With the holidays upon us that means that exercise can sometimes go to the waste side, but doing so means that all that holiday partying can go to your waist size. SO…. Let’s find ways to get our fitness on, yes?

Each day in December take some time to get some Jacking Jacks in. All it takes is less than 5 minutes to knock out this mini exercise. It requires no equipment at all, just YOU.

You ready for this? I’m committing to do these jumping jacks and I know you can too! Every little bit adds up, to something great!

Healthy Choices Made Easy

Hi Friends! I have a few things I wanted to  share today that can help remind you to make healthy choices…

Comparing calories can help you reach for the healthier things in life…

Snacking on low calorie foods leaves room in your calorie bank for that fancy date night dinner…

Changing your eating habits doesn’t have to be this huge overnight drastic change. Take baby steps, learn to swap out the processed foods for the fresh foods, kick the soda habit and learn to love water. Changing your habits doesn’t have to be a huge dramatic ordeal in less you make it into one. You get to decide when being healthy is important to you.

Weekend Inspiration

Booty Kickin’ Moves

I’m a big believe that every little bit of exercise adds up. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, park your car at the last parking spot to get in some extra steps to the store, etc, etc. It’s a great way to burn extra calories and boost your metabolism. I’m all about that! Sometimes I don’t have the time to get in a good long workout at the gym (or even at home), so I always try to get in a little bit of extra calorie burn where I can.

When I do go to the gym, I like to have a game plan. If not, I’ll wander the gym aimlessly, not knowing that to do and most likely ending up on the treadmill and blah that’s it. I’ve taken this (mostly lower body) workout below with me to the gym and knocked out some killer calories in the process…

Booty Kickin’ Moves

  • Warm-up: Walk, Jog, Run, Repeat for 5 minutes.
  • Sumo squats (4 times) then high jump, repeat 10 times
  • Lunge-back w/ weights raise to chest (10 each side)
  • Scissors plank (1 minute)
  • Side plank – raise top leg to sky 5 times, repeat 6 times (3 each side)
When you exercise do you have a plan or just go with whatever you feel like doing that day?
