Blogging Hiatus

Hello friends! How are you?

Its not that I’ve forgotten about you… its just I’m in a blogging rut. Every time I’d sit down to blog, I’d open wordpress and just stare. I got nothin’. So then, of course naturally I’d click to open the newest craze in the internet word…

It’s like once you start… you can’t stop. Be warned.

Sure, there’s plenty of inspiring things on interest to spark ideas and blog about, but at the same time, a lot of it is taking ideas that someone already came up with and posting it on my own blog. So alas, I’d stare at the screen and decide not to blog.

Then I thought I could talk about my normal routines of exercises, vegetarian meals, and some super tasty greek yogurt that I had recently, but lately I haven’t been one to change things up much, so I felt like I was repeating myself over and over. Granted, continuing to maintain a healthy lifestyle is all about consistency, I just felt bored writing the same ol’ thing. So all that to say, is I haven’t forgotten about you my dear blogging friends. I’ve just been in a bloggers funk.

I’m sure I’ll be back to sharing loads of fun things with you soon… but for now, until I get my blogging mojo back, this blogs on hiatus.

5 Things I Thought I’d Share…

Couple things to share with you today…

1. You really should try this…

This drink is wildly delicious!

2. I finally joined the Pinterest craze. And I now see why everyone likes it so much… so many random things you can find on there and since majority of the time I’m looking at it on my iPhone (Thanks, Steve Jobs!), I normally snap a picture of it and send it to people. :) Like some of this…

This has made me laugh so hard!

I love quickies like this!

How adorable would this outfit be on? Minus the earrings. Not a feather fan.

3. Instagram is probably way more addicting than pinterest though. I can’t get enough! Are you in Instagram? Find me (laurengiles)!!

Join the #FashionDiaries party in Instagram! Its a blast!

4. Its FINALLY feeling like fall in Hot Humid Houston. The other day I planted some mum’s in the garden and brought a bit of fall to the yard…

I always love this time of year.

5. Here’s something I’ve been meaning to mention, that tastes great in a smoothie…

*Scoop of Coconut oil (I leave mine in the fridge to harden and then use a warm spoon to scoop it out)
*Scoop of Fit Frappe (crazy good)
*Agave Nector (I eye it… about a teaspoon)
*Almond Milk
*Ice, Ice baby

and blend, blend, blend! Makes a really great smoothie!

Have a great day!

Painting with a Twist

This past weekend my sister and I went to this really fun place called “Painting with a Twist“, a place that offers painting classes (for beginners, advanced, etc) and is a neat venue to have a girls night out, birthday party, or whatever you want to call it party.

My sister and I are both huge Audrey Hepburn fans. So when we saw that Painting with a Twist was offering a painting class featuring a classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s design, we knew we had to try this out. The class lasted 3 hours and was an absolute blast! All the ladies there were hilarious and everyone had a great time. I highly recommend trying out some of these classes. The instructors were great and helped with any questions we had and gave really clear instructions, so following along was pretty easy. They did say this particular piece was more difficult than others, but they were sure they’d get us through it. I think the results turned out quite nice…

I’m really proud of my first attempt at canvas painting. I think I’ll get her framed and hang it in my office!

Have you ever gone to a painting class? What did you paint?

Scentsy Giveaway & Champion Shape Review

*Champion sent me these products to review and I was not compensated for my opinion. My opinions are entirely my own and I have not been paid to publish positive comments.*

Stephanie from Champion asked if I’d like to try the new Champion Shape activewear, I was more than happy to try it out!

Since the weather here has been fickle, I’ve only tried the capri’s and not the pants yet. We’re back up to 90+ degree weather. Yuck. Anyhow, here’s my thoughts on the capri’s.

Knee Tights:

When I first saw these knee tights I thought they looked like they were made well. The fabric is thick, but stretchy. One thing I absolutely hate about workout pants is when they stretch, you can seen through them. Anyone know what I’m talking about? I had a pair of running tights that did that and once I noticed it I was so embarrassed and never wore them again. I don’t want my booty showing during a yoga session or doing squats at the gym. Um… hello, not cool. So I was very pleased that when I tried on these knee tights, they didn’t give a peep show at all. Whatever fabric this is, I like it! I want more of it in my life. The other thing I was curious about is how breathable would this fabric be once I started getting heated from exercise. I took this out for a spin at the gym, running on the treadmill for 15 minutes, then 20 minutes on the stair master (stair master = sweating buckets). Again, I was pleased at how I felt in these. Breathable and definitely a fabric that wicks sweat. I also liked how to felt working out in these. They were tight, but not too tight. I’ve got a booty so when running, there’s um… extra bounce (just sayin’) and when wearing tights it can feel obviously that I’ve got extra bounce… the shape wear kind of felt like everything was tight, but in a good way. I liked it!

Would I recommend this product? Yes, definitely worth owning!

My sweet dear friend, Lori is a Scentsy Consultant. For the longest time Lori kept telling me about Scentsy and I’d be like “yeah, yeah…that’s nice”, but then be on my way and never gave the product a chance. I’m stubborn like that sometimes.

Well being the smart cookie that she is she sent me a warmer and some scents to try… I thought they were weird when I saw them because, its a “candle” but no flame? I just didn’t get it.

After using them I realized this product is genius! I love using my scentsy warmer and I’m loving the autumn smells I have burning right now. Lori knew that if I just tried it, I’d love it. And she was right! I think you would like it too!

One lucky TG reader will win medium size warmer and two scents of their choice!
