This weekend has seriously flown by! Your’s too? Sheesh!
I felt like we never stopped going. Well let’s see, where do I begin??
My {better than Martha Stewart} Sister made me some curtains for the kitchen, and my ever so handy husband put them up:

Turned out quite adorable if you ask me. The walls need to be painted, but that project will wait for now.
Also, this weekend I have been bitten by the baking bug! I’m SERIOUS.
I’m loving baking. I made a pizza and even made some sugar cookies….

I got this pizza crust from the frozen section in HEB, turned out really yummy!…
Added some Italian Seasoning…
I was out of pretty much everything, so this pizza turned out to be just a cheese pizza.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes…
and Viola!
Pizza is served. Looks tasty huh?…
Very yummy dinner and there was plenty to save for left overs.
After baking a pizza, I got totally wrapped up in Bake at 350′s blog, have you ever been there? Omg GO! She’s AWE-some. Her cookie creations have me in awe. So I decided to bake.
I know, you’re thinking “Um, Lauren, you’re in a 45 Day challenge, what are you thinking???” Well, I’m thinking I got cool new stuff from our wedding registry and I need to be friendly to the neighbors {and give them some} AND the eleven2 guys love cookies too. I won’t eat any, just share. I’m not big into sweets anyhow. It’s true, they’re of course yummy, but my downfall is not sugar and sweets… it’s PASTA. Omg, give me carbs baby, give me carbs. That my friends, is my weakness.
I baked sugar cookies:

Got my icing all ready…
First time using these puppies…

All nice and cool, ready to be iced!
So.. whatcha think? Not too shabby for a first time decorator.
I stayed up entirely too late Friday night playing baker. We had to get up at 6am for our Saturday Garage sale. Ouch. I was so tired.
I asked hubs to make a sign… oh boy. He did:

Nice huh?
Garage sale went well, Hubs is seriously the best sales man. He was rockin‘ it! We definitely sold a lot of the things we wanted to get out of the house. With me moving in to his house, along came a lot of boxes and random apartment furniture that I don’t need anymore. So it was great to get it out and make some money from it. Are you are garage sale hunter? There were some hardcore shoppers.
Hubs and I have been going to Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace class at our church. It’s so good. With being newlyweds, we really want to learn how to manage our money and were recommended to this class. We definitely like it.
This past lesson was about budgeting, not many people want to budget, in fact they hate it. I’m borderline on it, I don’t hate it, but it’s time consuming at least right now. Apparently as you continue, it becomes second nature to you. It had me thinking tonight also, how eating is a lot like money {follow me here}, if we plan and manage our money, our money now works for us and we’re much happier people, no financial stress, pain or guilt. If we plan what we eat, budget our calorie intake and watch what we consume, then we are much happier, healthier people without guilt. With doing our45 day challenge I’m realizing how real this is. Sure I can work out ALL I want, but if I’m eating too much, or in fact if I’m not eating enough {of what my daily calories intake should be}, I won’t lose weight. But planning meals, counting calories, snacking every few hours is time consuming, the more I do this, the more it becomes second nature… a lifestyle. Just like budgeting our finances has to be a way of life.
Cheers to a happy healthy lifestyle, budgeting finances and food!
So tell me, do you find it hard to budget financially? Is it something you already do? Do you plan what meals you make, snacks you eat? Do you count calories or eat whatever you want? If you could have one of two things which would it be: Eating whatever you want and not gaining weight or spending $1,000.00 a day on whatever you want for the rest of your life?

have you tried it?
