Hope you have a fantastic time ringing in the new year! Get ready to start the first day of 2011 off right, get out and get active, move, move, move and make 2011 the year of healthy choices!
See ya next year
I’ve talked about my weight-loss journey before on here (Then & Now) before. I’ve talked about beating mind-less eating, learning you are what you repeat and about setting goals. And in April of past year I got my head totally in the game and worked to lose the rest of the weight that I’ve always wanted to shed…
I’m so very happy to tell you that I’m now 5lbs away from my goal weight. Which when that happens I will have lost a total of 45 lbs.
I’m also excited that my awesome hubs jumped on board with me and has lost 30lbs and counting…
It’s been really awesome to have the love by my side through losing this weight… we’ve encouraged each other and helped keep each other accountable… I love him so.
From what has always felt like an impossible task, has now become a reality. I’m so proud of both of us for setting goals, sticking to them and make them happen.
2010 has been fantastic to us… and I can’t wait to see what 2011 brings our way!
Last year I did my race recaps of 2009, you can find that here. Let’s see what 2010 brought us, shall we?
This past year I couldn’t wait to kick off the running season, so in January I ran the Rockets 5k with my girls Melissa and Kim…
I must’ve enjoyed running in cold weather {not}, so I did my next 5k in February, the Rodeo Run and our friends Melissa, Greg, and Kim did it as well…
March was going to be our first 10k together, but hubs was sick that weekend so lil’sis joined me for the Bayou City 10k put on by HEB. FANTASTIC race and I definitely hope to do this one again. So very organized and fantastic weather around that time too. What more can a Houstonian ask for.

In April we did the Bunny Run 5k, which is practically in our backyard.
I love local-local races… so fun. This was the second year to run this 5k… Kim joined along…
And then… there was Nashville.
April brought us our first ever half-marathon… rainy half-marathon, but I loved every bit of that experience. I felt so empowered.
I loved sharing that with Hubs…
Then Houston got hot and running between May to August is just plain CRAZY, so why not do the Lake Houston 10k in August?
My friend Rachel and I did the 10k and our hubby’s did the 5k… great race, very well done and thankfully God blessed us with fantastic cooler weather that day. Phew!! Because the next weekend was hot as all GET OUT. Gotta love Texas.
September, Lil’sis and I ran the Bearkat Bash 5k with my friend Kim, very fun hometown race. Another one I’d do again. It was quite hot that day though… I should be used to this nonsense by now right?
And then there was October… a race I had been anticipating and hoping for all year long.
The Women’s Nike Half-Marathon…
By far the greatest running experience to date.
Click the recap to read all about it.
And that my friends is my races recap of 2010.
Did you run a race this year? What was your favorite and would you do another one? Would you do more or less races in 2011?
It’s time to look back and reflect on the past year… I’m going to start with the places we’ve traveled to this passed year and then move on to races and whatnots…
In April we went to Nashville, Tennessee to run our FIRST half-marathon together.
Such an amazing experience…
August we went to New York! By far my favorite trip so far. I could live there… well not right now, considering they’re living in a snow globe… but ya know, when its all nice and warm I could live there.
October arrived and it was time for my second half-marathon. We travel to San Francisco and got to experience the beautiful chilly bay.
It’s been a great year of traveling, a few of those places I had never been to prior, so it was great to experience them with Hubs.
Have you been to a new city/state this year? What was your favorite vacation?
Who’s saying what?
