Unhurried Time

Hello my friends, hope your Labor Day weekend was great. Mine was relaxing.

Much needed. We didn’t have big plans this weekend, we didn’t go out of town, we didn’t do too much really. And it was perfect.

I ran my scheduled 6 miles, and I was so happy to report that I *finally* ran a whole mile without a single walk break, break to catch my breath, nothing. I just. kept. running. :) I’ve always somehow psyched myself out and would say I had to take a walk break or if I don’t walk I’ll never be able to finish, but this time I just kept going. :) Now, I didn’t run the whole 6 miles, I ran/walked 5 of them, but that 6th one, I pushed myself. YEA! Sometimes I think its me thats holding me back in my running…

at any rate, Saturday’s run was a success!

I spent the rest of Saturday morning organizing my terrible closet…

isn’t that awful? Omg I cringed!

And then after blood, sweat and tears…

I color coordinated my clothes… this is an type-A personality’s dream :)

Ah, much better!

That evening we took our niece and nephews to Chuck-E-Cheese. My 3 yr old nephew has been calling Hubs and I and asking to go. :) In his words “I’ve waited a wong (meaning “long”) time for Chunky-Cheese.” I’m pretty sure he had a great time…

Love that kid!

Sunday after a wonderful church service, Hubs and I went to have lunch at Hubbell & Hudson…

Their food is beyond amazing. My salad was Spring Mix lettuce, goat cheese, edamame, black beans and avocado mixed with balsamic vinaigrette.

That afternoon we celebrated my youngest nephew’s 2nd birthday…

The party was a fun time with family and watching the kids around about and be silly. Good times, good times.

Monday Morning was just perfect. Unhurried time… Hubs and I slept in, that never happens. We both always have plan and things to do and get done. It was perfect unhurried time. I got to get the rest of the house in order, all the laundry done, went to Barnes & Noble with my sis and sis-in-law, went grocery shopping with hubs and even got to watch a movie (The Back-Up Plan).

It was a great day. It was a great weekend.

How was your weekend? :)

  2. I think it’s most impressive that you outright ran your LAST mile! What got me out of psyching myself out was an article I read in Runner’s World. It had something to do with us mentally putting limitations upon ourselves when physically we are capable of much more. It really got me thinking…

Proud of you, girl!! Lovin’ that we are racing together this coming Saturday – it’s been way too long! I think we are running from the park to Klein High before the race as part of our run – isn’t that lovely?! haha!

Jealous of your organized closet! It looks pretty! I bet you can actually find things in there. I wonder what that’s like. =D

  3. Awesome!! Congrats on your run.
I organized my closet this weekend too! I should have been smart like you and taken a before pic. I need to organize my room this weekend too.

  4. I’m impressed with your organization. My house is a disaster right now. I’m painting my son’s bedroom and his stuff has overflown into his brother’s bedroom (where he is sleeping), our bedroom (storing his stuff), the laundry room (cleared out for painting and cleaning goods) and the living room (now our laundry room). I can’t wait for the chaos to end!

  5. If you want to move to the next level of closet obsessiveness…wooden hangers. I gradually purchased them. It’s an investment so it took me several months of buying 2 packs at a time. HomeGoods has 5pk for $4.99. So does Target! Having all of the same hangers helps unify the look AND keeps them evenly spaced. Most importantly, ha!
    I’m crazy, I know.
