Last Friday night {I am THAT behind on blogging ya’ll}, my friends Melissa and Kim came over to watch “Spirit of the Marathon“.
It’s an excellent movie, documenting 6 individuals, all at different levels athletically training for the Chicago Marathon. This movie is very inspiring and completely motivating… you seriously want to go out for a run right after… that or sign up for a Marathon. Kim has plans to run the Houston Marathon and is trying to convince me to do the same. I’m not sure I want to run the Houston Marathon… so we’ll see. Melissa has a baby on the way, so her running shoes are taking a break, but we intend on helping Mel get back into running after baby is here.
Spirit of the Marathon gives you the history of how the marathon got started, as well as shows you how each person trains and handles this event. I think its perfect movie for anyone thinking of doing ANY race. You’ll love it.

I have run 13.1 a number of times and it’s my favorite race! My first was Nashville Rock N Roll
I haven’t run 13.1 yet! Working up to it. I’m planning on doing the Disney Princess Half-Marathon in March 2011. Far away, but it will probably take me awhile to be able to run that consistently since I just started running and usually just do 3-4 miles a day.

I linked it on my blog!
I’ve run 2 half marathons (My first ones ever!) so far this year and I have to say, right now it’s my favorite distance to race. The first one was the Riverton Half Marathon and the second was the Provo City Half. It’s an amazing distance. I LOVE IT!
I just added that movie to my Netflix queue! Can’t wait to see it. I have never run any races. (Sad story) but my sister and I have aspirations of running some (asap) in memory of our dad. He was a runner, he died 2 years ago. I need a good training plan. Is there a specific plan you used?
