Lets rewind to Friday afternoon.

Friday somewhere around 3:00pm, I was looking on petfinder.com {told you I had puppy fever}, and I saw a new add for a Yorkshire Terrier at the La Porte Shelter, a very high kill shelter and the ad said she only had a few days left. I emailed it to Hubs and then called the shelter to find out if she was still there, they said she was and they were open till 6pm, and then called Hubs to tell him what I had found out, he said “Meet me at my office, hurry”.

So in a crazy panic I ran around the house blowing out candles, shutting windows, locking doors and ran to my car. Made it to Hubs office and we took off toward La Porte. Now the reason for the rush, not only did we want to get there before someone would adopt her, but La Porte isn’t close. It’s an hour and half away. We made it there by 5:30pm, after paperwork, lots of chatting with the lady at the shelter, we finally got to head back home with our new dog, at 7:30pm.

She’s done really well transitioning into our lives. She’s helpful with the laundry…

Watches out for cars…

and even finds the time to relax…

She’s definitely won our hearts over. And, of course our whole weekend has been Taxi centered. We made a trip to the vet to get her shots, get heart worm tested {no heart worms, yea!!} and found out her age, she’s a puppy, born sometime in 2009, weighs about 7.6 pounds. Brought all kinds of dog related products, food, toys, crate, etc. Busy weekend indeed. But definitely worth it.
