Happy Monday Ya’ll! Hope your weekend was fantastic.
Saturday morning Hubs and I ran the Rodeo Run 5k
The morning was super chilly. We had to arrive about an hour and 45 minutes before the race began since they’d be shutting down the roads.
We searched for Melissa, Greg & Kim, but for the longest time we couldn’t find them. We finally met up with Kim and Greg. Melissa was walking with her Parents.
The race began at 9:45, and it warmed up nicely and the sun was shining bright. So I totally wish I would have brought my sunglasses.
The bummerish part about this run was that the 5k was not D-tag’d and I did not have my watch, so I really have no idea what my actual time was. But that’s ok, the race was fun, tons of spectators, rodeo stations set up cheering, and there was a great post-party
We went around to each tent, got lots of water, yogurt, & bananas. As well as some great little extras..
Good stuff!
The post-party was great and perfectly organized… most of the races I’ve done haven’t had a great layout for the post-party. So this was totally great.
I’m sure I’d do this race again.
How was your weekend, what did you do?

oh bummer about not knowing the actual time but…I guess you got to truly enjoy running a race without trying to compare it to others. I’m with you on the post-race festivities. I’ve actually only done 2 5K’s so don’t have much to compare them to but I was not impressed with either. Nothing bad, just people every where and no clue what to do w/ no rhyme or reason.
In a way, I think it’s good that you don’t know what your time is … you went out to have a good time more than you did to run a good time, so it sounds like mission accomplished. Looks like they had some pretty good hook-ups for a 5K. I’m starting to see those granola bars you got at pretty much every race and I love ‘em!
Re my weekend, I ran a few races, ate at Cracker Barrel and saw Scarface for the first time. I’d call that a pretty successful weekend!
Sometimes it’s fun to race for fun! Love the swag – a cup – what a great giveaway! (really, not being snarky!)
