Juice your Greens

In February I got a yucky cold and in turn developed a cough that just wouldn’t go away. It didn’t matter what medicine I took, the cough was not going away. My sister told me to try juicing, especially Kale. Kale is considered to be a highly nutritious vegetable with powerful antioxidant properties; kale is considered to be anti-inflammatory as well. So I decided to Juice away!

Granted I was a little nervous to try it. I like Kale in salads, but wasn’t sure about it in a juice.

I juiced:

  • 1 Apple
  • 1 Orange
  • Handful of Kale

And then the taste test…

It looks so GREEN!

And it was delicious! It was sweet, wasn’t expecting that. I loved it really. I’m craving another one. Plus, my cough has finally gone away {after a few of these} and I feel great. So the moral of the story, don’t fear the greens, go ahead, juice away! :)

And also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my awesome lil’ Sis!!!

I used to juice parsley and something else and it really wasnt all that bad. And yes, you’re right… you do crave it. I’ll have to try the Kale one.

  • If you liked that you should try a green monster, it’s spinach (or kale), almond milk, a banana and flax seed. You can add other stuff if you like but that’s a basic recipe (I add blueberries). It’s so yummy and a great way to start your day, a serving a fruit and a serving a veggies. Glad you’re feeling better.

  • Is it crazy that I have never thought to juice greens at all!!? I can’t believe it tasted good too! I have to try it! I love your blog… I’ve been following you since before you were married!!

  • you said, “yucky”, so here I am. And that kale looks scary. you are brave indeed!
