Bayou City 10k

Saturday was the Bayou City 10k downtown.  Hubs and I had signed up a while ago… but sadly Hubs was sick this weekend, so he couldn’t run it. However, I was glad that my lil’ sis would be doing it with me.

Saturday morning, woke up at the crack O’dawn, it was so cold that morning… I had my normal pre-race meal, english muffin with peanut butter, green tea and water.

I met up with my lil’ sis and headed downtown by 6:45am for the race. Race started at 8am.

Picture I took of this super pretty building… I love the city. :)

It was beyond windy {and chilly} while we were waiting for the race to begin. I think we were in a wind tunnel honestly.

We saw my friend Joe before the race, but some how lost him along the way. {Hi Joe! good job!}

But lil’ sis and I made sure we got our before race picture…

I’ve got my pink zensah arm sleeves on. Remember how I said the ones I had were too big and were slipping, well I got a smaller size and can I just say… I LOVE ZENSAH products! What a difference, they fit amazing and really kept my arms warm before the race and even during the race they were so comfortable. So note to all yourselves: order the right size. :) And buy zensah arm sleeves. You’ll thank me. ;)

The race began at 8am and we were off!

By mile 2, lil’ sis had to pee {she hydrated UP that morning ;) } so we waited for what seemed like forever and then got back on the road. While waiting for Sarah, I saw my friend Kim truckin’ along. So proud of her!

This might be was of my most favorite races so far… I enjoyed everything about it. There also was a lot of people cheering throughout the race, which was really fun.

I absolutely love doing races with my lil’ sis, we encourage each other along the way and keep each other distracted when we feel tired.

The race went by beautifully. The weather was divine, the race was so organized and I felt great the whole time. :)

The finish line was nice too.

And of course our after shot…

and I leave you with the randomness we saw when we were leaving…
