Happy February Everyone!
Hope your January was fantastic! Mine wast great and felt very long. Normally for me, January’s always seemed like a very slow, quiet month… uh, not this year! It was a very eventful month. How is January normally for you?
Well today, is the day after the Rockets 5K, I’m feeling sore. Mostly in my back and shoulders. So what does that tell me? I need to work out my back and shoulders…
So I’ve been looking up arms, shoulders & back work out, here’s a few I’ve found:
from Women’s Health you can download to your iphone/ipod
and from Fitness Magazine:
1. Cobra

- Lie facedown on the floor with arms at sides, palms down.
- Keeping abs and glutes tight, lift chest off floor and raise arms up and back toward hips, rotating thumbs up.
- At the same time, lift legs about 3 inches off floor. Hold for 3 counts and lower back to starting position.
- Repeat for 8 to 10 reps.

And of course doing Jillian Michael’s 30 day shred has tons of great back/shoulders and arms moves.
Any other suggestions?
in other news, hubs has been considering buying a body Bodybugg Calorie Management System
, anyone have one? Like it? pros cons? They’re about $249.00. I know they talk a lot about them on the Biggest Loser, so it’d be interesting to try.
Oh and before I forget!!! We signed up for the Rodeo Run today! And that’s “Rodeo” as in “Yee-haw” not “Juicy Couture/Jimmy Choo” shopping, just to clarify
It works in with our Half-Marathon training. Can’t wait!

What do you have planned for February?

A friend of mine is doing the Rodeo Run for her first ever 5K, I wish I was in town for it because I loves me some rodeo! I’m doing a 5 miler in Oklahoma instead though. I am looking for a race in Houston for Easter weekend if you know of any cool races.
that looks like an awesome race. yee-haw indeed
My two sisters and my dad all have body buggs and love them and totally recommend them! My biggest pain post race was my right hip and it was pointed out to me that I ran on one side of the road and I should have been more symmetrical – it never occurred to me! Doh! haha! I did have some arm and shoulder pain, too, though, so I’m totally going to try those exercises above! =)
