So my updates comes to you a little late {due to technical difficulties…} but everythings back to good, so lets get to it!
Saturday morning lil’ sis and I met up for our 8 mile run. {holy 8 miles batman!!} Let me just say, the weather was absolutely amazing! Perfect fall weather.

This was mile 3
The rest of the miles were good till the last few… my toes felt like they had blisters on every single toe. And sure enough I had a killer one on my big toe. Ew, I know. I took a picture, but I don’t think I want to gross you out that bad. haha
After the run I had some sports beans, since I forgot to bring them with me…

I tried the assorted pack..

I wasn’t sure if I’d like the assorted pack, since I normally like to stick to one flavor. But these complimented each other nicely. Definitely helped since I was starving and needed something fast to hold me over.
Even though the weather was nice and cool, I was HOT. Down the water and tried some coconut water…

and I’m still not impressed. I don’t have if coconut water is for me. Have another brand to try next time. Not for 10 for Texas run though, I don’t want to try anything new that day.
Just keep it same and simple.
After lunch, I had a really bad headache and felt sick to my stomach. I decided to lay down and take a nap to sleep this awful feeling off. Blah.
After the nap I felt much better, needed more h2O but otherwise better.
Saturday evening, Hubs and I went to dinner with my sister and brother-in-law…

We went to this cute little Italian place down by Nasa. We were on our way to the David Crowder concert…

We had awesome seats!!

and even got to meet the band after….

Such a fun night!!
Sunday, after hubs and I went to church, Hubs took a nap and I fought with iphoto for a while {sigh} then I met up with the sisters for movie date! I love sister time! We went and saw Fame. I’d give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
I love my sisters!!
I had a cute picture to post, but the fight with iPhoto has started again
So Monday showed up and was such a blur, what a busy day. I blinked it and it was over. That evening lil’ sis and I ran 3 miles and are getting super excited for Saturday. Can you believe 10 for Texas is almost here?? CRAZY!!
So tell me, what did you do this weekend?

Wahoo! You’re back. I missed you yesterday.
It sounds like you had another amazing weekend. I’ve never tried that coconut water, but I’ve been tempted. After your review, I might just skip it all together.
Sorry to hear about all of your iPhoto issues…have you tried downloading Picasa? I’ve had great luck with that program.
Lol @Joanna I’m so glad you like the Picasa program!
Lauren I don’t know how you do it! My body isn’t made for running. I love walk (could walk forever), I love tae bo, kick boxing (yes I have to alter what ever I do to protect my bum arm). I am in good shape and love how Billy Blanks and my Treadclimber have toned my body but no matter what running just doesn’t come naturally to me,
So my hats off to you girl! Your wonderful!
yea! it was a fun night! darn the sister pic didnt post-I wanted to see it. and SOOOO glad you did not post the blister pic-blech…
Congrats on the 8 miles, you are a machine!!! (I mean that in the kindest, sweetest most beautiful, complimentary way possible LOL!).
Re: coconut water. I couldn’t enjoy it plain either.
The only way I liked it was in smoothies, I loved it in green smoothies!
Anddd I’m just going to pretend that I’m not jealous you got to see DCB in concert…nope…not jealous at all… (LIES).
Sounds like a nice weekend!
BIG congrats on the 8-miles!! Oooh, assorted sport beans… we just have the single flavor packs here still.
Thanks again for the Zensah gift card. I ordered my sleeves!
eww.. coconut water doesn’t even sound remotely appealing to me.. lol
great pics of the concert!!
Great job on the 8 miler girl! Make sure you hydrate enough cuz those post run head aches can be killer!
Glad you got the technical difficulties taken care of for the most part.
You are ready for the 10 miler!!!!
Picasa is a google application. I find it a bit more functional than iPhoto…don’t you, Erin?
I’ve been wondering about the coconut water but haven’t tried it. With the headache and upset stomach sounds like you got a bit dehydrated, have you tried Nuun? it’s my new fave drink, I did a long run on Sunday and though it was ridiculously humid I managed to stay well hydrated.
Check out my Sunday post about Nuun:
http://therunningmama.com/2009/10/sunday-run/
I think a good way to keep dehydration at bay is to make sure you stay well hydrated the day before a long run, drink plenty of water. I think it’s better to stay hydrated during a run with something that has electrolytes, so any sports drink like Nuun or gatorade. I try to drink 4 oz every 30 minutes, I use a Fuel Belt that has 4, 8 oz bottles. 4oz is just a couple of swigs from a bottle, really easy to do.
Isn’t the cooler weather amazing for running? Sweet relief from all that heat!
This post made me wish I had a sister
I’m so glad you have such an awesome one though
Love the pics from David Crowder. I hate that we couldn’t end up going. = (
I’m glad you guys had a blast though!
BTW…you are doing amazing at getting ready for 10 for Texas!
