Good Morning! How was everyone’s weekend?
Mine went like this…
Friday after work and I got a little birthday shopping in…
Love this bag from Gap
I didn’t have much time to shop the mall {which was crazy packed} since Hubs and I were going to the Astros game that night…

the food was amazing!

Good times at the game
Saturday early morning, went out for a 7 mile run with lil’ sis. Great weather, great run! Getting so excited for the 10 for Texas! Its coming up soon {October 10th}.
Last week’s 6 mile run totally felt a lot harder for lil’ sis and I. I was thinking about it afterward and I really think this week was much better, because mentally I was ready for this run. I had my head in the right place and knew that these 7 miles were gonna be a piece of cake, that we were gonna rock those miles out without any thought. Now last weekend with the 6 miler, my thought processes was totally different, I was dreading every step, thinking how much my feet hurt and just didn’t have the right mindset at all. I’m convinced that running is not only physically challenging but mentally challenging as well. Just had to get my head in the game! What about you? Ever felt that way?
On the run I had some grape sports beans…

these were pretty tasty too, the Fruit Punch ones so far are my favorite, but the grape is a close second.
Then after a bunch of water I had this as a snack…

The Naked Breeze, Watermelon is delicious!!
That evening we had friends over for more birthday festivities and I made a cake {yes, I made my own birthday cake, but I like to bake}…

my big bro came to the par-tay!
Had a great time with friends and family!
Sunday after church we went to lunch with my family…

It’s always a circus when we’re all together
The rest of the day was spent with the lil’ sister at the outlet, didn’t score many deals. Waa-waa. Was looking for a fuel belt at Nike, but wasn’t too impressed with what they had. Oh hum.
But on my way home, my Honda finally hit the 100,000 mark…

Aww, such a good car. I drove this baby off the lot with only 12 miles on it. Oh the places we’ve been together. xoxo
That evening, I got home to find a package had arrived…

What is it you ask? Well…

A very sweet birthday gift from The Cranky One herself!
Bella from “Feed Me I’m Cranky“. How sweet is she!? The package included:
- Three Zbars {oh I love these!}
- Trader Joe’s Kettle Corn {YEA! I don’t have trader joe’s but I love their stuff}
- Trader Joe’s Cranberries
- a Workout Mix CD
- and a card {I love cards!!}
Thank you so much Bella, you’re so good to me!
Totally made my night!
So tell me, how was your weekend? What did you do?

Glad you had such a great birthday!!!
Your cake looks delish. Happy Monday!
HA! My daughter has that bag too. And I see you stopped by 10 for Texas for a bite to eat? hehehe.
Hey Lauren! Glad you got the package and hope you enjoy it!
About running being mental — TOTALLY! Honestly, I think running is at least 50% mental and 50% physical ability. I know that when I have been in the right mind set and have had enough pep talks with myself, I have ran up to 19 miles without it being too torturous simply because I knew I had to do it and just did it. Other days, to do even 3 miles is KILLER! Granted there really are days your body is just exhausted, so…yea. it’s definitely both mental and physical!
Your cake looks delish! gimme!
xoxo
