Weekend Recap: 4-day holiday!

Look what I signed up for this weekend…

10ForTXlogo

The 10 for Texas is October 10th.

I’ve been wanting to do this… training for it {uh, not as hardcore as I should be…} and I finally did it. Made the serious commitment by signing up… annnnnnd got a little week in the knees. But I can do this. I may pass out, throw up, fall over, cry, but I won’t give up. I can handle 10 miles {no, haven’t done 10 miles in my running existence, don’t judge, send love :) } and after its all said and done, I’ll press on to the next milestone, which I’m shooting for a half-marathon next year! So lets talk about something else or I’m gonna panic. :)

Labor day. What a great holiday. And even better when its a 4-day weekend holiday. :)

Let’s recap…

Friday, I woke up had a oh-so fabulous non-rushed breakfast…

Then spent the rest of my day cleaning the house, organizing, grocery shop and organizing again… remember my wanna be Pottery Barn decor look? Well, here’s the finish product, er… so far…

whatcha think? I’m loving it. It’s turning into such a cosy living room :)

Saturday morning went for a 2.5 mile run in the Park…

it got really hot since I didn’t go earlier in the morning,

so after 2.5 miles I headed back to the car downed water and tried a couple Sports Beans…

The Lemon Lime flavor was pretty good. Its the only flavor I’ve been able to find. I’d like to try some of the other ones.

The rest of Saturdays events were very mellow. Included reading the new Fitness Magazine & Hubs watching Football… very… loudly.

Ah, yes. It’s officially College Football season and the volume in our house is at its all-time high. Hubs loves college ball and reminds me there’s only so many games, and he HAS to watch them. It’s fine with me, just give me a good book/magazine and a cup of tea and I’ll be just fine. :)

For dinner I made a pizza, from the emealz.com recipe…

and for the pizza dough, I used The Red Mill Gluten Free Pizza Crust:

Turned out pretty snazzy…

09-05-09 121Notice, Hubs is not a tomato fan. {Yet, he eats salsa?}

Sunday, we went to my sisters house for my sweet nephews 1st birthday party! :)

Birthday boy’s pretty stoked about his party!

09-05-09 202Good times. :)

Well since this weekend basically was a get the house in order, clean, etc weekend. I am going for an A.M. Run, then going to spend some time with my Sissy and play all day long! :) YEA!

HAVE A GREAT DAY YA’LL!!! {And I don’t know what I’m typing in caps… excited much?}

After last nights 2-mile run with the lil’ sis, we came back to my house and gulped down water like camels. :)

Lil’ sis wanted a snack, so she had a VitaBrownie and added some Oikos Greek Yogurt on it. I had a bite and it was a tasty combo!

I was roaming the blog world last night and went to read Matt’s blog,  No Meat Athlete’s and saw these adorable t-shirts he’s selling:

LOVE THEM! So need one. But after the water-heater/Hubs car needed repair, I think I shouldn’t be spending any money right now :}

On another note, the new WATER-HEATER has been install!! YEAA!! Last nights freezing cold shower made me feel like I was in 7th grade at a summer camp… it was bitter cold! Faster shower, ever. Oh so grateful to have hot water again. Oh so. :)

Annnnd on another random note, my roaming the blogging world lead me some how to looking up puppies :) and look at this little angel!!!

This Shih Tzu, Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie is up for adoption in Tylertown, MS. Oh I want one :) But this baby is too far away from me. {I bet my husband is thinking, “oh no not a dog already;) }

Pottery Barn wannabe

***We interrupt your regularly scheduled health/fitness reports to bring you some home decor***

So last week I went to a re-sale home decor event here and bought a few things for the house, this beautiful picture for $12.00 and some throw pillows for the couch, whatcha think?…

IMG_0321

The before picture… and don’t mind the nerdalert in front of the couch… this was seriously the only picture I found of the “before” of the living room”…

IMG_0043

The after so far. I know the picture isn’t centered, I wanted to get it up there just to see what it’d look like and used the nail already there, I promise I’m not crazy :) I’m thinking some pretty wall sconces on both sides of the picture, whatcha think? Like the pillow too? That was from the sale. Its red and tan, matches our red and tan couches. :)

I really like the simplistic look. Pottery Barn is seriously my style of choice, I love their expresso  colors and simplistic looks, but since Pottery Barn is insanely overpriced more than than I want to spend.. I’m seeing a Hobby Lobby trip in my near future… :)

***Now back to your regular program…. time for a run!***

It’s Birthday MONTH! {Blogger Spot-Light}

Happy September my friends! My FAVORITE MONTH, can you guess why? ;) Yep, it’s Birthday month for me. September 22 is around the corner and I’ll be 27 years old.

27.

I remember being 7 thinking 27 was SO FAR away. Sheesh. :) I love life, and I kindly welcome 27.

So I was thinking, birthdays {for me and other people} are always a time to tell that person how you’re glad they’re here on this earth and make that person feel important a special right? Well, in honor of birthday Month and since my Birthday will be on a Tuesday this year, every Tuesday in the Month of September I’m going to spot light a blogger and tell you why I think they’re important and special, and I want to invite you to do the same… You can link up below on MckLinky and tell us what blogger you want to tell the world about.

The blogger I want to share with ya’ll, I found through another blog and was curious by the name, which took me to fabulous Beth at discom-BOB-ulated Runng:

Beth is a runner. Disciplined, driven, determined. {I wanna be like her when I grow up.} She writes about her running adventures and has such a hilarious sense of humor, I find myself cracking up while reading her posts, good stuff ya’ll. One thing I like about Beth is she’s so down to earth, she can wake up at the crack O’dawn {lucky morning person} and pound out many miles and she doesn’t have a running chip on her shoulder. {ever met one of those? They’re not many, but they exist :| } I appreciate her, she’ll answer my silliest of questions and encourage me along the way. She’s got a great heart too, her and her sister ran a 5K this past Father’s Day in honor of her Dad who passed away two years ago, for me, that was so awesome to read about.  If you’re not reading her blog, you should, get to know my blogging friend. You’ll love it, you’ll laugh, you’ll be inspired and you’ll get to know about an awesome person!!

So tell me, who are some blogs out there that you want to share?
