Tropical Smoothie & Baking bomb

G’morning peoples. Can you believe it’s Thursday? One day away from going to the San Marcos {awesome awesome awesome} outlet and then floating the river! YEA!!! Hubs and I leave tomorrow after I get off work at Noon. Cannot wait! It’s about 3 hours away.

I was out of my normal stuff for my morning smoothie, so this baby was a little more tropical. :)

I used Amazing Meal Pomegranate Mango, orange juice, frozen banana, strawberries & papaya, unsweet coconut shreds & agave nector, then blend, blend, blend…

This smoothie was mighty tasty!! Very refreshing, great way to start off the day!

The other week I tweeted that I was making homemade granola bars, a recipe that my mother-in-law gave me, I was going to blogged about it and how it turned out.

Um…

yeah I bombed them. They weren’t that good. The ones my MIL made were tasty, so I’m not too sure what happened. I guess its trial and error. Hopefully I can perfect the recipe and made blog-worthy granola bars. :)

For now, I gotta run and get this day going. Don’t forget to enter in the Vita-Top Giveaway!

So tell me, have you ever attempted a recipe and had no such luck? Tell me about it, it’ll make me feel better :)

  1. Oh boy do I have a long list of recipe fails! But i think it’s so much fun to try new things out and when they come out good it’s all the better!

  2. ooh, good smoothie! I have the same packet and have been wondering what I should add to that flavor. i love the idea of banana, strawberries and coconut.

yeah, I’ve totally messed up recipes before. We rarely throw anything away, but I tried a lemon pasta dish one time and it was awful. I don’t know if it was me or the recipe, but yuck.

I also made my first ever layer cake for Nick’s birthday a few years ago and it was crooked :) still tasty, though!

  3. Tasty looking smoothie girl.

Let’s see. I did make a thrown together pasta dish one night that was just awful. I am a way better baker than cook. I need explicit directions and measurements or it comes out awful. I’ll stick to cakes and cookies.

  4. Hmmm horribly cooking experience? Well how about a horribly loaf of bread that turned out so dense that it looked like a deflated loaf of BANANA BREAD… ummm…. you’ll do better next time, I believe in ya!

  6. 1. yum smoothie :)

    2. that happens to me sometimes… i always blame it on the oven (or the pots, or the walls, whatever lol)… but seriously we all have those off days where we think we did everything right and then suddenly realize that our cakes in the oven and that we never put baking soda in it :)
