Check out Works-for-Me Wednesday over at We Are THAT Family.

What works for me is SNACKING! Do you ever just get starved throughout the day in between breakfast to lunch and lunch to dinner? Goodness, I do. I have to snack, that way I don’t totally binge on Lunch or Dinner.

Some snacks I like to have:
img_0081Celery, hummus and  one Laughing Cow cheese. Super tasty!

zbarI know, I know, you’re saying “Lauren that’s a kids bar” oh but ya’ll, it’s AMAZING! Roughly 170 calories of deliciousness! You HAVE to try them. My favorite is the Honey Graham.

odwalla-bars-product I love Odwalla Bars. They’re very filling, Hubs will eat them just as a breakfast sometimes. Really tasty. I try to keep one in my gym bag purse in case I get that “I need to eat RIGHT NOW” feeling.

strawberry-bananaI love Fruit! Bananas and Strawberries are always a great snack! When I go to yoga classes, I normally bring a banana and have that afterwards so I don’t get that sinking feeling after working out so hard. Super tasty and travels too :)

So tell me, do you snack? What are your favorite snacks? I’m always looking to change things up a bit. :) And don’t forget to head over to We Are THAT Family and link up for Works-for-Me Wednesday!

  1. I love the Zbars! Some stores sell the weight watchers bars that are very similar. If I see those I pick ‘em up.

Frozen grapes are good snack food too.

I find that if I start the day with a cup of green tea, it kind of curbs my appetite and I don’t want to snack much… but if I skip it in the morning, I’ll have munchies all day.

  2. My husband swears by the green tea too. I will have to give it a shot, but I love my coffee, I am s huge snacker. Problem is I snack a lot and don’t eat meals. I work 10 hours a day and teach at night so not much time for meals, but I am on the wait list for The Biggest Loser book at my library, I need fast and easy recipes. Is there one particular recipe you can recommend?

  3. I’m always looking for stuff to snack on. Small things I can throw in my purse for work, or keep on hand to grab quickly. Thanks for the suggestions!!

  4. Kristi, You’d love the Biggest Loser cookbook, I got the “Family” one. Try the Baked Ziti {holy mcYummy} about 350 calories, and super tasty! Do you like Yams? Another was a baked yam with laughing cow cheese, SO good.

  5. Jen, I’ve never tried the weight watchers ones. I’ll check ‘em out

  6. Thanks Cher, and I loved your post today! GO YOU!

  7. I found Pears at my local Costco and they are yummy! (only $4.99 for 8 pears)
Lauren you should post the Baked Ziti recipe on your blog. :) i’d love to see it.

  8. Heidi, that’s awesome! Hey good idea about the baked ziti! I’ll do it :)

  9. I wouldn’t have thought to pair hummus with celery, what a good idea! I like pears and cottage cheese or apples and peanut butter for snacks. Hardboiled eggs are good too =)

  10. Thanks Kim! I like peanut butter and celery too. Never tried apples with it. sounds good
