Hello Everyone!
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend, I did!
This weekend really flew by fast! Friday night Rodney and I went to Dinner for my Sister-in-Law’s birthday,
much fun!
and my Friend Ashley came out for the fun.
Saturday Morning bright and early at 6AM, Hubs and I headed out for our first 5K run! I think I’m such a nerd, because {and I promise this is true} I dreamed about the 5K all night that night, from getting ready to running it, to finishing, it was ALL so exciting to me. I can’t tell you how much I wanted to do this, to prove that I can.

We took an After photo:

My mother-in-law had her camera the whole time and got alot of good pictures, I’ll have to post those later.
We did really good, we started out running, walked, ran, walked, ran and finished it running. Finished in 42 minutes, not to shabby I say for our first ever attempted. By no means do I consider myself a “runner“…yet! Hubs and I are determined to continue running and do more 5K’s until we can run the whole time and then go on to a 10K
After the run we went to a place in Tomball called Clucker’s that had breakfast Taco’s for those that did the 5K, and they had prize drawings… I kept repeating “say #262″ {as if the lady could hear me} but wouldn’t ya know, the lady drew my number and said “#262!” and I jumped up saying “it’s me! it’s me!” Good times. I won a basket full of bubble bath, lotions and other girly goods.
After all that, hubs and I went to get a few things for Easter, such as:
Yep, those are our Ducks and Chicks.
The chicks like to hide behind the ducks, but the ducks love being photographed, regular models if you ask me.
Ya know, most people say newlyweds normally get a dog first… um… we got ducks and chicks {Friends anyone? if you know what I’m talking about…}
My sister came over and helped make some cupcakes for Easter…

Pretty huh?
Definitely a very jammed packed weekend, but so much fun!..minus a few hiccups, broken disposal, major headache Easter morning and having to cancel family brunch get together, carrot cake not baking all the way and falling into pieces, but other than all that craziness, it turned out perfectly fine. Good Times!
So tell me, how was your weekend? What did you do? Have any of you ever ran a 5k, 10k, half-marathon, marathon? Tell me about it all!

hmm my weekend…lets see I was at your house the majority of Saturday…hmmm yet I didn’t make the blog post! whats the deal with that?
Hmm good point… sorry Jon, I didnt have any pictures of you
We’re gonna have to recreate the weekend and take pictures of you haha
Oh stop it! Look at those cupcakes. Mine don’t come out so nice. Boo.
Ducks and chicks! Awesome!! Are you going to call them ‘duck’ and ‘chick’? LOL
you have the best blogs ever! i’ve never ran a 5k (i hate running) but i would love to try! i dont know where to look to see where i can find them around my area though :-\
lol, im just kidding I don’t care
I did a half marathon in 2006. I really like doing triathlons the most, but I had to improve my running time because I’m so not a runner so I decided to do a half marathon to work on that.
Great job. The pics are great and the bottom line is you did something you always wanted to do, had fun doing it,and completed it. yay!
