It’s that time of the year ya’ll, time to PLAY BALL!
Baseball season is always fun.
Going out to the ballpark, being around crazy {normally very loud} fans and of course…
EATING.
This past week we’ve been to see the Astro’s at Minute Maid park twice. Luckily, they won one of the games. Woo!
But when you’re eating to lose weight, you don’t want to eat like the picture above.
I know, I know, you’re saying “Lauren, c’mon that’s what going to the ballpark is ALL about!” Sure, I get it. BUT, if you’re trying to lose weight, not a good idea. Sorry.
At Minute Maid on the Club Level, there is this AWESOME Salad bar. So glad they have that. So for Dinner, I had a Salad and then after that, my Mother-in-law suggested to go for a walk and climb the stairs to burn off our dinner. {She’s so great!} so we did, people thought we were weird, but hey, we could still here the game going on, and we did a good 3 laps around the park and went up and down the 2-flight stairs 3 times, go us!
Other ideas for having a healthy experience at the Ballpark is:
1. Eat before you go {I know, *groan* how boring}
2. Bring your purse {or your man-bag} and pack some healthy snacks
3. Stay away from the ICE CREAM {this should be a given, but ya know… its hard}
4. If you’re going to eat that pretzel, then GET UP and move. Take those 3 laps
5. Just be cautious of what you’re about to eat and then realize how hard you’ll have to workout, to burn that off.

So tell me, What’s your FAVORITE thing to eat when you go to a baseball game?

This is great advice. Good for when you go to the movies too!! Keeps you away from all the nasty (and VERY expensive) stuff behind the snack counters.
Hope you guys had a blast!!
I can’t even imagine how horrendous the footlong chili dogs must be. Whenever I’ve gone, I usually get that… But I actually don’t like to eat at the baseball games. Its too expensive, hahaha.
so not eating is out of the question so it looks like i would do best with a pepperoni pizza…SCORE!
i enjoyed reading that. the hubby and i are huge baseball fans and we probably go to 75% of the games, whether they are home or away. now i know what to stay away from at the food stands, i honestly don’t know if i could be as strong as you when saying no to any of the food my hubby will offer to buy. congrats on staying strong!
Hi Jenna, thanks for the comment. Glad it was helpful.
And congratulations on being a Bride-to-be! It’s the best!
Yeaaa Onnie! I thought of you when posting this. haha
Jen I agree, it’s super pricey at the ballpark, maybe that’s why its been so empty…or maybe because the Astros have been losing?
Oooo Cher, the movies, that’s another calorie, fat and sugar killer!
