Things I Love Thursdays: Blogging

It’s “Things I Love Thursdays” over at Diaper Diaries, be sure to hop over and link up!

tiltI love Blogging.

It’s true. I really enjoy blogging. I have had quite a few new readers stop by and I thought it’d be a great chance to introduce myself and tell you why I love to blog.

As of present day, I’m a 26 year old newlywed. Married to the perfect man for me. My husband is truly a blessing, and we do make a great Team.

When I first started Blogging, it was to tell all my friends and family about our upcoming wedding. It was a great way for me to find ideas, share ideas, give details, talk parties, and rant about the silly things and talk about being a soon-to-be Mrs.

I loved it, I met so many great Brides-to-be, and found many great ideas about planning a wedding and making it your own. I also would talk about health and exercise, something I’ve always had a passion for, but with the thought of wearing a fancy white dress, the motivation was EVEN more high.

After our wedding and honeymoon, and finally settling into newlyed blissness, my focus for being healthy and fit have never left.

With blogging I can share my journey of getting fit and staying healthy, I meet people that desire the same, get tips and encouragement through the blogging world and find that writing down my thoughts, goals, wants, and achievements is motivating and keeps me accountable.

Not everyone “gets” blogging. But… not everyones tried it either. :)

I love to write. I’m not the best writer. But I write from my heart, and that’s good enough for me.

Welcome to my blogging world. I hope you visit often. Leave a comment, because I always love to hear from you {and if you have a blog, I love to visit}.

So tell me, what do you love? What do you enjoy?

WFMW: Running, it’s good for you

wfmwbannerkristenIt’s Works for Me Wednesday at We are THAT Family, check out all the fun and this, is what works for me:

I love going outside and walking/running. It’s always so refreshing, sunny sky, cool breeze, gorgeous all around.

BUT…

that only last for like a month for me.

I live in Texas. Hot Humid Houston.

Me + Humid = hate each other Not Friends.

So thankfully, there’s always the gym.

The good ol’ treadmill!

Walking on the treadmill, easy-breezy. Running on a treadmill, scares the bananas outta me!

So I’ve decided to think of all the pros of being on a treadmill:

  1. The tempature is always comfortable in the gym
  2. There’s always a bathroom close by
  3. You can control the incline as much as you want {It’s flat here in Texas}
  4. There’s always someone pretending to workout to watch
  5. The treadmill has better shock absorption
  6. You don’t have to watch out for cars… or dogs
  7. You don’t have to carry your water bottle with you {or on you}
  8. There’s always someone running hardcore near you, it tends to make you try harder
  9. You won’t get dirt in your socks
  10. You can get totally lost in your thoughts whether you’re inside or outside. Nice.

There ya go. That’s my top ten list that I could come up with, not too shabby. :)

So tell me, do you prefer to workout inside or outside? Are you lucky enough to have fantastic weather all the time {you Californian’s you} or are you like me and can’t stand the hot weather?

P.S. Hop over to the Houston Wedding Planning Examiner Articles by Janice Thompson, to read an interview of me about our recent Wedding. :D

Race for the Pennant, here we come!!!

astros5kMay 30th.

7:00 AM.

Running.

Sweating.

Hot.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Finish Line.

Proud!

It’s so WORTH it! I’m telling you, the first time Hubs and I passed that finish like for our first 5K {this will be the second}, it was the GREATEST feeling, feeling SO accomplished, so proud that we pushed below our comfort zone, we pressed on when stopping and sitting down sounded so good, we continued to fight back our thoughts of quitting and finished the 5K race well!

SUCH A GREAT FEELING!

Ahh! I’m SO EXCITED! You have NO idea.

I’m sure I’m going to dream about this {oh yeah, I dreamed about the Bunny Run, like… so much}, I’m a dork… I know :D

Soooooo tell me, what makes you feel so accomplished and proud of yourself? What have you done that looking back, you saw how strong you are? Have you ever been critizied or made fun of for doing something that you feel proud of?

Weekend Recap: Wholyfit, Popsicles & Goodbye

It’s amazing how a weekend can fly by so fast.

Friday arrives and you’re like “YES! Weekend fun!” and then you blink and “Hello Monday“…

Crazy how that works.

Let’s recap shall we?

Saturday Morning started off lovely with a bit of Wholyfit.

I love how this class makes me feel empowered afterward, strong and confident. I love it. {Click here to learn about Wholyfit.}

Hubs and I didn’t do too much Saturday, {we had totally awesome humid weather…} he had some work to do and I cleaned the house a bit while a “America’s Next Top Model” Marathon was on… do you watch that show? It cracks me up. No seriously, some of the girls are sweet and beautiful and some are just down right MEAN and not pretty… I mean… seriously. Ok enough of that…

I bought this really cool Popsicle fruit mold thing from Sur La Table {Thank you gift cards!}

popMy reasoning for buying it is, Hubs loves to have something sweet ever so often. So being able to make my OWN Popsicle and knowing what I’m putting in it instead of weird things I don’t know how to pronounce, sounded like a good idea to me.

I put some frozen lemon ice, frozen strawberries and some apple juice.

Now I had no idea how much this would make or how much I needed to fill-up each mold. So I basically winged it.

The results are in:

meI thought it was tasty too!

Ah… I’m such a good wife. *pat myself on the back*

hehe

In other news {not to be a Debbie-Downer but…} our beloved ducks have now gone on to a new home.

duckies

They were getting huge {and smelled} and we didn’t have the room {and they smelled} and they really needed a pond {plus they smelled}… so we had to say goodbye. I took this one last photo of them swimming in the bathtub {that now has successfully been cleaned by Fabuloso} aren’t they cute? Goodbye Gossie and Lucky, love you, you smelly things!

Sunday, was great too…It was good to take this weekend a little slower. The Month of May provides to be CRAZY packed. Birthdays {Yea Hubs!} Mother’s Day, Anniversary’s, Dallas Trips, 5K and a photoshoot {modeling is my secret career…I kid} Definitely a packed month! So it was nice to take this past weekend and make it less eventful.

So tell me, How was your weekend? Did you take time to relax or were you busy and on-the-go? Do you find it hard to relax, or it’s easy-breezy for you?

**and P.S. please be praying for this Family, Jenna at Eat, Live, Run lost her brother on Friday due to a horrible accident**
