To-Do List… OMG!

myspace wedding countdown

And yet… here are these To-Do’s NOT finished:

• Book an officiant for the ceremony
• Choose center pieces for reception
• Choose flower girl, ring bearer attire
• Meet reception caterers, arrange tastings and make a booking
• Order wedding accessories, including headpiece, veil and shoes
• Compile a guest list and organize addresses
• Prepare a playlist for the reception
• Schedule rehearsal times and make reservations for rehearsal dinner
• Arrange transportation for the wedding day
• (HIS) wedding band style and purchase
• Attendants attire and schedule fittings
• Create a PhotoShow DVD for the reception
• Discuss bachelorette party plans; arrange bridesmaids luncheon or dinner
• Send Save-the Dates
• Create gift registry
• Buy guest book, confetti, favors for guests and (complete) gifts for attendants

According to the evil little email I just got from a Wedding “check list” reminder thing, these are the tasks that should have been completed anywhere from 7-5 months before the Wedding. Do you see the tickler up there? GEEZ! Tell me to stop checking my email… I’m borderline FREAKING out… I need Starbucks…

Honey. that tickler is going to drive you nuts. it did with me for a while. lets have a long chat on the phone over some of these things and see what we can knock out. love you. i am here!!! just a call away and now a relatively short flight as well. ;-)

  • Oh, yes, the wedding to do lists. We had so many lists when my daughter got married this summer my head was constantly spinning! But, we got through. How? The closer the date came, the more we cut out or trimmed down. Things became more clear and we were able to focus on the essentials. We kept our sense of humor and reminded ourselves of what the day was about, and what it was NOT about.
You’ll get through it! Maybe turn off those reminders and just keep them in a notebook. Last thing you need is a to do list shoved in your face with FAIL written all over it!

    xo

  • 7-5 months in advance? seriously? i did half of that stuff like… last month… lol.. dont freak!!!

  • go to the couthouse…the only checklist for that looks like this:

    1. make sure court open
    2. money to park
    3. which Judge?
    4. have cash.

    The end :)

  • Try not to get so wrapped up in the time – trust me, you will get all the important things done. Turn that darn reminder off! As mentioned above, just keep it all written down in a journal. I think that most of the things you listed, I did about 1 to 2 months before our wedding. I promise that there is a light at the end of the tunnel…

  • Remember that its just a “guideline” and we all function on different schedules… so breathe and try to enjoy the insanity that’s ensuing, otherwise, it’ll all pass by and just be a big ball of stress that you remember. Regardless of what that email sends you, you are going to be a beautiful bride shortly and have a spectacular memorable day!

  • Hang in there and try not to get so stressed out that you lose the excitement of being SO CLOSE! I know the timeline can be agonizing but just remember that anything that must happen, will happen, and the rest is all just fun :)

  • Stay strong with it all!!

  • And I thought my ‘to do’ list was heavy. Wow.

One day at a time and in the end, it’s the ‘I do’s’ that you’ll remember!

  • Thanks for reading my blog!

I say STOP and take a deep breath. It will all get done no worries. Just think, all of your hard work will pay off once you have your wedding and see it all unfold!

Ok when I come down, I am so helping you knock this junk out. And like Jenna says, give me a call. I don’t work, if you need calls made or whatever I AM YOUR GIRL!
And it honestly says 5-7 months?? What do those poor people do that get married after 6 months?? Stop that ticker!

  • Jen

If you really want to break it down.. there’s 14 weekends left before ‘big day’, if I counted correctly. So you can essentially knock off one of those things each weekend until the clock stops ticking. :)

But if you want to double up, since there’s 2 days in a weekend (assuming you assign a task to be completed in one day rather than one weekend), you can easily knock that list off in half the time.

Or you can just go off of Ondrea’s list… that does seem easier, hahahaha!

    Hotels for guest, check
    Transportation, check
    Bachelorette, check
    Honeymoon List, check
    Rod’s passport, check
No worries my Bestie, I told you I would get you covered! I love you so mucho!

  • [...] when I had my freak out moment and bared my inter-thoughts and “To-Do List“?? ‘member? Oh I do. The good thing that came out of my freak-out-moment was [...]
