Official race photos from the Rockets 5k came in my email box today.

Oh it was so cold and I look it.
I was bummed there wasn’t a photo of the finish line. I loved the finished line. I’ve never purchased race photos, they’re quite pricey. Maybe I would one day if it looked amazing… hmm will see. What about you? Ever purchase an official race photo before?

Happy February Everyone!
Hope your January was fantastic! Mine wast great and felt very long. Normally for me, January’s always seemed like a very slow, quiet month… uh, not this year! It was a very eventful month. How is January normally for you?
Well today, is the day after the Rockets 5K, I’m feeling sore. Mostly in my back and shoulders. So what does that tell me? I need to work out my back and shoulders…
So I’ve been looking up arms, shoulders & back work out, here’s a few I’ve found:
from Women’s Health you can download to your iphone/ipod
and from Fitness Magazine:
1. Cobra

- Lie facedown on the floor with arms at sides, palms down.
- Keeping abs and glutes tight, lift chest off floor and raise arms up and back toward hips, rotating thumbs up.
- At the same time, lift legs about 3 inches off floor. Hold for 3 counts and lower back to starting position.
- Repeat for 8 to 10 reps.

And of course doing Jillian Michael’s 30 day shred has tons of great back/shoulders and arms moves.
Any other suggestions?
in other news, hubs has been considering buying a body Bodybugg Calorie Management System
, anyone have one? Like it? pros cons? They’re about $249.00. I know they talk a lot about them on the Biggest Loser, so it’d be interesting to try.
Oh and before I forget!!! We signed up for the Rodeo Run today! And that’s “Rodeo” as in “Yee-haw” not “Juicy Couture/Jimmy Choo” shopping, just to clarify

It works in with our Half-Marathon training. Can’t wait!

What do you have planned for February?
Today Melissa, Kim and I ran the Houston Rockets 5K.

It was a very CHILLY morning. Us Texas girls here freezing! I tweeted this, this morning:

That’s stinkin’ COLD.

Gettin’ ready to go…

Once we got moving I warmed up pretty quickly, which was nice. My toes however, never warmed up, they felt like they were ice cubes!
The finish line was pretty cool, you finished on the basketball court…

This race was Kim’s first 5K and a PR for Melissa and… FOR ME TOO!!!! I don’t have my “official” time, but the clock & my watch said 43:23, which my last fastest 5K was 44:15, so I AM happy! and I did that on a jacked up ankle/foot, which if you follow me on twitter, you read about my woes this past week. But the ankle is feeling great today. I started to hurt a little bit around mile 2, but nothing bad. I feel great right now.
Right after we finished the race…

This was a very fun race, even though it was bitter cold, it was still fun. My ONLY compliant (besides the weather) was right when you finished the race, there was NO WATER, you had to go up the stairs and OUTSIDE to the after party and even then, it took us what seemed like forever to find water. Very annoying when you’re super thirsty. Other than that, it was a fun race and I’d definitely do it again.
***UPDATE: I got the officially chip time and I finished the race in 41:33!!!!! That’s my fastest EVER! *happy dance*
Who else went running this weekend?
Who’s saying what?
