Navitas Naturals

The other day I received a spiffy package in the mail…

Navitas Naturals sent me a few products to try out:

“Navitas Naturals cacao beans are hand selected for quality, partially fermented to alleviate bitterness, and processed at low temperatures for maximum nutrient retention. Once extracted from the pod-like fruit, purified water is then used to cleanse the beans where they are peeled and partially ground to form small pieces or “nibs.” Navitas Naturals Cacao Nibs contain 100% pure cacao that is certified organic, kosher, gluten-free, vegan, and raw.”

“Navitas Naturals Palm Sugar is made from the sun-kissed sweet juice of the tropical coconut palm sugar blossoms. Once the nectar is collected, it is kettle-boiled into a thick caramel, dried, and ground into a fine crystalized powder. Our Palm Sugar is 100% organic, vegan, kosher, gluten-free, and sustainably-grown.”

“Navitas Naturals Acai Power comes from the low-lying coastal areas of Brazil. Due to the delicate nature of the berry, the fruit is transported immediately after harvest where it is hand-inspected for quality. The whole berries are then freeze-dried and low temperature milled to ensure maximum nutrient content, resulting in a powder that is both nutrient-rich and easily integrated into your favorite recipes. The only ingredient in our wonderful Acai Power is pure 100% organic acai that is also certified kosher and vegan.”

“Stainless steel loop cap for easy handling, 100% food grade 18/8 stainless steel bottle, Wide-mouth design, fits ice cubes, Easy cleaning, Reusable & 100% recyclable, Dishwater-safe”

And also a recipe book…

Which has a ton of awesome recipes! I can’t wait to try them all!

I decided to to finally make the bran muffins I had…

I started with the dry ingredients…

I added two tablespoons of the Cacao Sweet Nips, one tablespoon of flaxseed, the mixture and some butter. Then the wet ingredients…

and blend…

filled into the mini muffin pans…

and then baked for 10-15 minutes on 350 degrees…

and viola! Mini-Muffins!

Really tasty, the cacao nips give it the perfect little sweet bite. :)

Now that its getting a bit warmer out, I’ll have to start marking smoothies and try all those recipes!

Get to the Core

I barely ever workout my abs, like, Never.

The machines at the gym are seriously intimidating to me, I really never use them.

The other day, my lil’ sis and I went to the gym and we decided to do these ball exercises…

The back extension one still has me sore! Wowie!

I found some other great ball exercises here: Fitness Magazine.

What kind of core workouts do you do? Any tips/suggestions?

Not so hot…

So rewind. Friday Morning I woke up feeling not so hot. Not so hot indeed. I couldn’t keep any food or liquids down all day till about 10pm that night. NOT FUN.

I haven’t been that sick in well over a year. Boo. So needless to say I missed Friday’s 7 mile run. :(

Fast forward a bit to Saturday, after much rest, I finally got out of the house with Hubs and made it to my sisters surprise birthday party.

SURPRISE!

Good times. :)

Other than that, the rest of the weekend was pretty quiet and of course attacking the laundry full force… Friday has become my laundry day, so the fight with the laundry monster was huge.

How was your weekend? Please say better then how mine began. :)
